How to decorate your home for Christmas
It’s that time of year again - the days are short, the kids are excited, and the shops are packed. It’s Christmas!
One of the joys of this time of year is bringing the festive feeling into your home. Decorating the tree, baking mince pies and playing Christmas songs all help make your home feel jolly and festive, and we’ve come up with a few ways to help you add that extra festive touch to your home.
Poinsettia
You can’t go wrong with a classic poinsettia for a table centrepiece on Christmas Day. Most poinsettias are red - a colour that really suits this time of year - but you can also get them in pink or white if you fancy a bit of a different twist. Just be careful to keep it away from any pets, as the plant is mildly poisonous to cats and dogs.
Holly wreath
Hanging a holly wreath on your front door is a lovely way to make your home look welcoming and cosy for Christmas. Holly wreaths come in lots of different styles, and can include decorations like ribbon, pine cones, flowers, dried fruits - anything you like! You can have some fun making your own wreath, and getting the kids involved to help. Or, you can let us take care of it for you.
Garland
A festive garland can create a cheerful focal point in your home. You can use lots of green foliage for your garland, and decorate it with pine cones and bows - you could even work some fairy lights in to make it extra cosy. Try draping your garland around your mantelpiece, up the banister, or around a big mirror.
Modern Christmas tree
Go for a modern twist with a minimalist take on a Christmas tree. Try decorating some bare branches with fairy lights, baubles and simple decorations for a contemporary Christmas feel.
